Morning: From Taipei Main Station to Ximending's Buzz

My adventure began at Taipei Main Station (map), a bustling hub that reflects the city's dynamic spirit. I started my day with a hearty bowl of Liu Shan Dong Beef Noodles (around TWD 800-1,000 per person) at the Breeze Food Court (map), savoring the rich flavors of Taiwanese cuisine.

Recommended: Beef Noodle Soup - The broth is richly flavored with beef bones and a blend of Chinese herbs. Noodles are freshly cut and cooked to order, and the beef is simmered until tender, offering a burst of flavors with every slurp.

After a 20-minute walk, I found myself in the heart of Ximending (map), a vibrant district teeming with youthful energy. I explored its quirky boutiques, sampled the famous Lao Tian Lu Braised Pork Rice (around TWD 500-1,000 per person), and soaked in the lively atmosphere.

Recommended: Lao Tian Lu Braised Pork Rice, Ah Cai Fish Balls, Tian Tian Li Food House, and Ma La Hot Pot (Buffet). Visit The Red House, Enjoy Street Food - Try local favorites like bubble tea and stinky tofu at Ximending’s street food stalls.

Afternoon: Taipei 101 and Breeze Nan Shan's Luxury

A 30-minute train ride brought me to the iconic Taipei 101 (map), a towering skyscraper offering breathtaking panoramic views of the city. I ascended to the observatory, marveling at the cityscape spread out before me. Afterward, I strolled through Breeze Nanshan (map), a luxurious shopping mall (Around TWD 1,000-2,000), where I indulged in the delights of Kangetsudou (map), a Japanese wagashi shop.

Recommended: Taipei 101 Observatory, Jimmy Liao Moon Bus, i-Ride TAIPEI Flight Theater.

Evening: Ningxia Night Market's Culinary Delights

As evening descended, I ventured into the lively Ningxia Night Market (map), a feast for the senses. The aroma of sizzling street food filled the air, and I sampled a variety of local delicacies, including Crispy Squid, Pig Liver Rong Zai, and Liu Yu Zai Egg Yolk Taro Cake (around TWD 500-800 per person). The vibrant atmosphere and the delicious food made for a truly unforgettable experience.

Recommended: Liu Yu Zi - Famous for deep-fried homemade taro balls with a crispy casing and chewy inside, filled with pork floss and egg yolk. Rong’s Pork Liver - Over 60 years of serving fresh pork liver soup, known for its tender liver without any blood smell. Fang Jia Shredded Chicken on the Rice - Tender shredded chicken with soy sauce over hot rice, delicious and not too greasy. Lai Ji Oyster Omelet - Crispy outside starch with full of oysters and vegetables inside, served with sweet sauce
