After arriving bright and early at Tokyo Haneda Airport, I embarked on an amazing 2-day adventure exploring this incredible city. First up was the scenic 38-minute monorail ride into the heart of it all - Tsukiji Fish Market (map). I feasted on freshly grilled fish, hot crepes and more for around JPY 1,500-3,000.

Refueled, I then caught the speedy 41-minute train to futuristic Shibuya Shibuya Scramble Square, 12th and 13th floors. (map)  I spent a few blissful hours wandering the interconnected sky decks and indulging in Okonomi Tamachan's comfort dishes for around JPY 500-2,500.

Leaving with reluctance, the quick 25-minute ride then delivered me to the architectural wonder that is Tokyo Midtown Hibiya (map) shopping cost: around JPY 500-2,500 for high-end boutiques and views.

I capped the perfect day off taking in sweeping city panoramas from the observation deck of iconic Tokyo Tower (map) (17mins from Tokyo Midtown Hibiya), about JPY 1,200-2,100 total.

Feasting on seasonal delicacies like abalone at cozy Syoutaien Shibadaimon (map) (13mins walk from Tokyo Tower) Cost: Around JPY 3,000-5,000 wrapped up my first night spectacularly.
